My name is Gertrude Jones, and I am the owner and operator of Gertrude’s Garden Gems just outside of Pittsboro, NC.   I started my cut flower business seven (7) years ago because of my love of cut flowers and wanting them to be available to consumers at a fair price.

I have always worked with flowers as I grew up on a farm in Maryland.  And until our recent retirement, my husband, Harold,  and I had a landscaping business for 36 years.  Now, instead of beautifying the outside of your home, we bring that beauty into your home!  My specialty is mixed-bouquets of my home-grown seasonal flowers.  The prices range from $5-10 on average and specialty arrangements around $25. The variety of seasonal flowers grown on my farm includes: Snapdragons, Peonies, Zinnias, Irises, Lilies, Tulips, Ranunculus, and Sunflowers, but I am always looking for other interesting and unusual varieties to spice up your bouquets!

By popular demand last year, we expanded our selection to include some of of my person favorite varieties of potted herbs, bedding plants and delicious asparagus.  This year we hope to offer fresh raspberries in season if we can resist eating them all as we did last year!

NEW!
Things are getting started again for the year around the farm!  Seeds are sprouting in the greenhouses, tulips are planted out, rows are tilled and hilled.  New fencing is going up around the cows to keep them from wandering amongst the flowers Surprised.   The asparagus is getting a new layer of mulch and the raspberries are going to finally get staked up.   We look forward to seeing everyone again in March/April at the markets and on our flower delivery route .   If you would like to sign up to get on our flower delivery route on Monday's please email me so that we can get you scheduled.
